Gov. Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee at the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce provides a variety of events for our members to participate in to become well informed citizens.  Our goal is to create opportunities for our members to interact with elected officials and those running for public offices. Currently the Government Affairs committee has three types of events that take place throughout the year:

  • Legislative Briefing: Taking place January through June each year, breakfast is served giving the opportunity for constituents to hear from their state elected officials about what is happening at the Capitol. Guests also have an opportunity to ask questions to the group.  
  • Candidate Forum: Organized to create an opportunity for the public to hear directly from the candidates about their policies, priorities, and qualifications side by side.
  • Town Hall Meeting: Creating a unique opportunity to engage directly with your elected officials, ask questions and discuss what's important to you and our community.
