Membership Spotlight: A Bloom Flowers & Gifts
A Bloom Flowers & Gifts, located in downtown Tahlequah between Meigs Jewelry and Junie’s Closet, offers a wide variety of floral services. A Bloom provides many different types of floral arrangements, ranging anywhere from birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy arrangements and even “just because.” However, the A Bloom team says some of their favorite parts of what they do is creating arrangements for weddings and other special events. From wedding party bouquets to gala centerpieces, A Bloom does it all.
Amongst the many different types of arrangements A Bloom creates, they also provide unique activities for the community to participate in. These unique activities include classes and parties centered around building, or creating, different types of floral arrangements. They hold both public and private events, with an assortment of activities like flower arrangements, succulent gardens, wreaths and more.
Owner, Rian Cragar, began working for A Bloom in July of 2017 and purchased the business by May of 2018. Cragar says getting to create flowers to celebrate a first grandchild, or to cheer up a friend who has lost a loved one, makes what they do worth it. Cragar is also heavily involved with the Tahlequah Main Street Association. She has served on the board for five years and is currently the Design Committee chairperson.
The A Bloom team also strives to stay involved as much as they can. They are frequently a drop-off location for various organizations’ donations and drives, like for coats and the Angel Tree. A Bloom is also able to sponsor several events throughout the year, like the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet where they provide centerpieces and other floral arrangements. During the Red Fern Festival, the A Bloom team makes sure to volunteer for at least one shift during the weekend.
A Bloom will have a fun series of spring classes beginning in March, with a spring wooden bead wreath. So to keep up with A Bloom’s latest projects and upcoming events, be sure to follow them on social media for important dates and ticket information.
